At the Costa Brava Veterinary Hospital we have a new mobile surgical C-arm. This technology allows us to obtain high-quality images during surgery without the need to move the patient.
It is especially useful in trauma surgery, particularly in MIPO (minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis) techniques. Having intraoperative images significantly reduces the size of incisions, accelerating recovery time and shortening the consolidation period, as the fracture focus is not directly exposed or manipulated.
It is also suitable for spinal neurosurgery, as it enables precise localisation of the intervertebral space affected by disc hernias or other spinal diseases.
Other applications include guided sample collection for cytology, diagnosis of tracheal collapse, and assessment of swallowing disorders and oesophageal motility.
